Hosted by Birmingham poet Helen Calcutt, Poetry for Pikpa is a special event to raise funds for the Pikpa Refugee camp’s medical centre, in Lesvos, Greece, where earlier this year Helen spent some time as a volunteer.
The evening will host a variety of regional voices from around the country, page poets, and spoken word artists. You’ll find all the most up to date information at the event’s Facebook page.
The evening will feature performances from Christina Thatcher and Holly Daffurn.
Christina is a freelance writer, PhD student t and Creative Writing tutor at Cardiff University, and is involved with many publications and writing projects across the country. Her debut collection More Than You Were is published by Parthion Books. www.christinathatcher.com
Holly is a poet and spoken word artist who calls Birmingham her poetic home. Her work has appeared in many publications and she has worked in collaboration with film makers and artists. She is currently preparing her first collection of page poems. www.hollydafurn.com
